Cheap VPS: A Smart Hosting Solution

Anyone who wants to establish an online presence must make a website and in order for that website to be functional, you must pay for hosting. Website owners have three options here. They can choose shared hosting, which limits the amount of features they have access to and forces them to share their server with others. They can choose dedicated hosing, which can be expensive but offers many great features. Or, they can choose to use a cheap vps. A VPS is a virtual private server and it provides all of the same benefits that a dedicated server does, but without the heavy cost. This is the ideal option for those who want to establish an online presence, help their business grow and increase their traffic, but do not have the money to pay for a dedicated server.

A virtual private server is a physical server that has been distributed to a number of servers through a virtual partition. Each partitioned server has its own operating system. The OS (operating system) can be either Linux or Windows. While most people choose Windows because of its ease of use, Linux servers tend to be more efficient and safer.

Because each VPS is considered to be its own entity, it can easily be restarted without affecting any other servers. This allows hosting companies to take advantage of this technology and sell VPS services for cheap rates. It is not only the hosting company that sees benefits either. This type of hosting is very beneficial for the customer as well.

This type of server is cheap to set up. Setting up a dedicated server with the same features would cost nearly three times the amount that it would cost to set up a VPS. A VPS also allows you to host multiple websites on one server. This is impossible with shared hosting and very expensive to do with a dedicated server. This type of server also provides you with greater control unlike shared hosting. You also have the option to customize your server per your own needs. Applications can be installed and software implemented whenever needed.

The only drawback to this type of server is the fact that a Windows server is more expensive than a Linux server. Windows are easier to work with, but do have their own disadvantages too. In order to use a Linux VPS, you must ensure that you have the proper knowledge first.
